Whew! I finally finished the family tree I was making for my parents. I got the idea from a catalog at Christmastime. They sell prints of a Victorian house, ande personalize the window boxes with the names of your family members. I took that idea and scrapped it.I photographed my parents' house, and then made a copy of it by paper piecing. Then I added the details-the window boxes, the doors and windows, the trees in the yard, the tire swing, etc. I am really happy with the way it came out.
Unique scrapbook albums, pages, favor boxes, and home decor. Who knew playing with paper could be so much fun?

The Back to School Blues
Even though I am fortunate enough to have had the last 12 days off, I really do not want to go back to school tomorrow. My husband, in true husband fashion, has absolutely no "sympathy" for anyone who only works 180 days a year! If he only knew...
Anyhow, I am in the process of making a scrapbook family tree for my parents, and it's coming along nicely. I think it'd be a good project for birthday and anniversary gifts. Making a copy of their house was pretty simple, it's all straight lines and easy to cut on the paper cutter. Now I am trying to add all the other elements: trees, shrubs, a walkway, etc.
The thank you notes I am making need to be done by tomorrow when I go back to school. I was going to put a snowman on the top of them until I realized that my base card is white, so now I have to cover it with patterned paper before I put on a white snowman...shoulda thought of that before!
