Christmas 2009

I have spent the last 2 months getting ready for Christmas between the baking, the shopping, the wrapping, and the decorating. It's over already! I always get a little blue when Christmas is over. I just love the holidays! We did have a very nice Christmas this year (although it was hectic). The children were very excited and Santa Claus was very good to them!

I am currently working on a new project, a family tree for my parents. I paperpieced their house (or a reasonable semblance thereof). I like the way it's coming so far. My in-laws are next on the list.

Baby boy album

I am in the middle of a huge project-my sister contracted me to make a baby album for her friend who is having a baby later this month. It's coming along, and some of the pages are really coming out nicely. Hopefully, I will finish soon and post some pictures.

Too many materials...so little time

I have an addiction to scrapbook supplies. Ok, I admit it. I have so many supplies, in fact, that I often get "scrappers block" and cannot begin to make pages. It's like when your house is a mess and you have so much to do that you don't know where to begin. It's overwhelming. There are so many techniques that I want to try and so many paper piecings that I want to make that I literally don't know where to begin. That spells trouble for me when I am supposed to be working on two albums for gifts right now. I have to just get started, I guess.

Above is a picture of my latest creation- a note I sent to my students at the end of the school year. It probably would have been faster to buy 25 cards, but I thought they'd like the bears in the gift boxes better. The pattern for the bears was created using My Scrapchick patterns. I love their patterns! The picture is a littel dark-you can't see the face of the bear. It came out cute this time-faces are the hardest part for me.

6:38 Pm EST

Ok-I have sucessfully created a couple of paper piecings. Here they are: cows and watermelon (again, from My Scrapchick).
